Notes, right on the candidate card

Mappings have had room for notes on a candidate for a year, as comments on the Overview page. But the work happens on the candidate list, and the notes weren’t there: you couldn’t see them while you worked, search them or filter by them.

Starting today, notes live on the candidate card. Write one without leaving the list, find a candidate again by a word from a note, filter by who has notes and who wrote them, and ask the copilot what the team said. Notes already written on the Overview page are on the cards too.

Spoke on Thursday. Open to a group CFO seat, not a divisional one.

Write a note without leaving the list

Pick Add note from a card’s ⋮ menu, write a line or two, and press Add note or ⌘↵. From then on the card shows a small note icon with the count. Point at it to read the latest note, or click it to read them all, add another, and edit or delete your own.

Notes are plain text and meant to be short: what a candidate said, why they fit, why they don’t. They’re on the Scoring page too.

Add a note from the card’s menu. Point at the note icon to read the latest.

Find a candidate by what you wrote

The search box at the top of the list now reads notes as well as profiles. Type a word you remember writing, a company, a reason, a phrase, and the candidates whose notes contain it come back.

The words in one search have to be in the same place: all in the profile, or all in the notes.

Type a word from a note, and the candidate comes back.

Filter by notes

Three new filters sit under the funnel: Has notes or No notes, Notes contain, and Note by, for one teammate’s notes. Each shows as a chip you can clear on its own, and they combine with every other filter on the list.

Has notes, then Anna’s: two candidates.

What you filter is what you export

Export, Add to Search and every bulk action on All matching filters now take exactly the candidates the list shows, note filters included. Until today the export ignored the search box, company, location, dates and score, so an export from a filtered list could hold far more people than the list did. Now it holds what you see, on the AI-filtered and trash tabs too.

Ask the copilot what the team wrote

The copilot reads a mapping’s notes. Ask what Anna said about your shortlist, or whether anyone mentioned a notice period, and it searches the notes, filters by who wrote them, and tells you who wrote each one and when.

It searches the notes, and says who wrote what.

Available now

Notes are live in every space. Open a mapping’s candidate list or Scoring page and use a card’s ⋮ menu, or the note icon on cards that already have notes. On the Overview page, Comments are now called Notes: it’s the same thread, and you can now edit your own.

A note stays in the mapping it was written in. Most notes judge fit for one role, and “too junior” here shouldn’t follow someone into the next search. For something that belongs on the person everywhere, use Log Activity on their profile. Notes are for your team: the client portal doesn’t show them.
